Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto addressed the following points during the weekly flag-raising ceremony:
00:01-00:25: Acknowledgment of City officials, departments, and personnel from the Institutional Sector who attended the flag-raising ceremony.
00:11-00:55: National Children’s Month Celebration
- Mayor Vico expressed special thanks and congratulated the children who performed for the Kick-Off Ceremony of the National Children’s Month Celebration in the City of Pasig. He also acknowledged the City Social Welfare and Development Office as the lead office for the said celebration. He then emphasized the need to further strengthen the city’s Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) programs, including the provision of daycare services.
- He also congratulated the ECCD Centers and teachers for their work, especially for the result recent assessment conducted by the ECCD Council, where 23 child development centers in Pasig City were awarded Level 3 and 2 were awarded Level 2. Mayor Vico recognized the relentless dedication of these teachers in achieving the said recognition.
00:56-02:21: Day of National Mourning for the Victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine
- Mayor Vico announced that the City Government of Pasig is one with the country in the observance of the Day of National Mourning for the victims of Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Kristine today, November 4, 2024.
- He then shared that many local government units were severely impacted by the onslaught of STS Kristine. In response, the Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has approved a resolution for the provision of financial assistance (totaling PHP 13.5 million) to local government units (provinces, cities, and municipalities), which have been put under a state of calamity brought about by STS Kristine, pending the approval from the 11th City Council.
- He clarified that the funding for this aid comes from the City’s DRRM Special Trust Fund. Mayor Vico reminded everyone to be grateful for being in a position to help those in need.
02:34-02:53: Mayor Vico thanked everyone involved in Task Force Undas and those who assisted in its operations. Over 1,200 individuals, from the Peace and Order Department to the Clean and Green Unit, were mobilized during this effort.
02:54-02:58: He concluded his speech by once again extending his thanks and greetings to everyone who attended the flag ceremony.
