Flag Raising Ceremony Highlights | January 29, 2024
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto addresses the following during the weekly flag raising ceremony:
00:01-00:17: Mayor Vico acknowledged the presence of the Schools Division Office (SDO) - Pasig headed by Schools Division Superintendent Sherryl Gayola and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Jay Macasieb.
00:18-00:47: Acknowledgment of City officials, departments, and personnel who attended the flag raising ceremony, as well as the host offices from the Education Sector.
00:48-01:10: Mayor Vico said that the City Government of Pasig will focus and implement more education programs and projects, especially if the proposed K+10+2 education program pushes through. He then mentioned that one of the adjustments that the city will make if the said program pushes through is to strengthen our Technical Vocational programs.
01:11-06:36: Pasig City Emergency Go Bag
- Mayor Vico then announced the launching and the start of distribution of the Pasig City Emergency Go Bag — a project of the Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
- He stressed that the City Government of Pasig aims to provide service for all. He then acknowledged that the city may prioritize Pasigueños who are in need, but always tries to provide equal public service to all the Pasigueños.
- Mayor Vico then assured that every Pasigueño family would be able to receive a Pasig City Emergency Go Bag which contains the following: dry bag, glow stick, whistle, flashlight, thermal blanket, zip lock bag, first aid kit, heavy duty scissors, stickers, magnet, and family disaster preparedness booklet.
- He then shared that the distribution of the Pasig City Emergency Go Bag is one of the city’s steps to ensuring that Pasigueños are prepared for disasters and emergencies.
- Mayor Vico then reminded the Pasigueños to practice honesty and integrity by getting not more than the number of Pasig City Emergency Go Bag that they should be receiving. He reiterated the rule that each family will receive one Pasig City Emergency Go Bag. He also reiterated that the house-to-house distribution will start today in Barangay Bambang.
- Mayor Vico also said that the city’s next project is to provide hard hats and whistles for schools. He also mentioned that City Hall employees will also receive an Employees Emergency Go Bag by February.
- Mayor Vico then shared that the Pasig City Emergency Go Bag contains a booklet that explains what other emergency preparedness-related materials the Pasigueños should add to the bag. He then added that the booklet also contains the QR code which will direct the Pasigueños to the video that will explain briefly about the Pasig City Emergency Go Bag.
06:37-07:11: To end his speech, Mayor Vico thanked everyone who attended the flag raising ceremony, especially the presence of the employees from the SDO - Pasig.
