DID YOU KNOW that this year marks the 23rd anniversary of the Pasig City Symphonic Band, or simply Pasig City Band? 

The Pasig City Symphonic Band was formed through a resolution in 2001. Most of the band members are small-town boys with an immense love for music and exposure to local bands playing at parades and festive occasions.

Apart from the regular flag-raising and retreat ceremonies at the Pasig City Hall Grounds, the band also plays during City Government activities, barangay fiesta functions of private companies, religious events (i.e., processions), and holds concerts in plazas, malls, and school campuses.

The band has been invited to play at functions outside Pasig City such as in Bulacan (i.e., Sta. Maria, Pulilan) and in Rizal (Morong, Taytay, and Cardona) to name a few. Their repertoire ranges from classics, modern, contemporary, pop, rock, ballroom music, to martial marches.

One of the band's flagship programs under the Pasig City Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office is the Music Appreciation Program for Batang Pasigueños, aimed at promoting awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the value and merit of different styles of music among the Pasigueños youth.
